WHO WE ARE:

Longview Transit is the public transportation system for the City of Longview, TX. Established in 2003, Longview Transit continues to grow with approximately 250,000 trips taken annually. With each new bus purchase, the once fleet of 20-person capacity buses are being replaced with 35-person capacity buses. Longview Transit employees approximately 30 full and part-time bus operators, mechanics, dispatchers, field supervisors, and administrative staff.

Our staff is the irreplaceable capital assets of Longview Transit, the majority of which are on the frontlines representing both Longview Transit and the City of Longview by practicing the highest ethical standards and treating everyone with respect and dignity. Team members take pride in their positions and the service they provide to the citizens of Longview, always keeping our mission and core value of customer service in mind.

 

FUTURE TEAM MEMBERS:

Longview Transit is always seeking candidates for our fixed route bus service, but we will accept and hold applications for other positions for 90 days. All applicants for bus operators and mechanics must have a Texas Commercial Driver License with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements. Bus Operators begin as part-time and must complete a four week training program which includes both classroom and behind-the-wheel training. When fulltime positions become available, they are filled from the part-time operators.
